Dark Angel 667Dave's place for Xbox 360 & tech December 23 Still hereWow it has been some time since my last post it must be at least two months by now. Anyway I am letting you know I am still here & that I plan to keep on posting. Well it’s nearly Christmas & a new year but I thought that I couldn’t look forward to next year in till I look back at one of the biggest games of the year for 2006. Now this game is the single reason for why it has been over 2 months since my last post. & This game is none other than Gears of War there is no doubt about it I am hooked on this game. The online play is so good that I cant' stop playing. From the moment this game came out in November this is all I have been doing since then. Anyway I love this game & hopeful I will have an update for you all in the New Year but in the mean time have a merry Christmas & a happy New Year.
BTW if anyone fells like a game of Gears of War fell free to send me a friend request here @: Dark Angel 667 November 06 GAME1After attending the GAME1 Expo I would have to say it was pretty good for the size of the show even though it was a small show I still had a good time. But how good was it well to be truthful I felt it was only worth going if you live near to the show any more than a hours drives you might think twice about going. The only reasons I say this is because it was some what a bit small but that did not stop me from checking it out for most of the day. The show had Displays from EA games to THQ & Activision & Microsoft which all showed previews of up & coming games. All which had plenty to give away to full copies of 360 games, which I thought was pretty cool. There was a number of 360 Demos on there but most of which can be played on Xbox LIVE but the big highlight was COD3 been there & I cant go on with out talking about the Wii. Yes I played the Wii & I can tell you that I want this console even more. I think I must have lined up for even more than an hour to play but I was very glad to play in the end. This is one great little console & is set to take on the 360 & the PS3. I found for actions to happen in the game you had to do them in the same way you would in real life. One surprise that I got was how good these games look. For example Zelda looks just as good as any 360 games or PS3 game. So if you had any worries about how the games will look than don't because they play well & look great too. There was also more to this little show Samsung also had a display there. They had there new R Series rang of LCD HD TVs to. They also had Samsungs Blu-ray player there & well it does look good & it does look better than DVD but not by much at all. One other thing that was pretty cool was the Racecar looking Driving Simulators which you can check out in the photos in the below & at SimworX. These Driving Simulators will work on the 360, PS2/3 & PC. I think if you have the money this is a must have for any race fan. Anyway I have some photos of the event & some photos of the Wii & of Zelda & some other stuff to. Anyway it was a pretty good show & I am glad that I went & don’t forget to check out the pics & the links & have a good one guys. October 31 Lost for wordsWell in the last few days I have tried to Blog but every time I sit down in front of the computer I can’t seem to get it out of my Head & on to my page. I have all of these ideas for my Blog but I just seem to be well lost for words. I don't know why maybe it's because I am so tired. Anyway I decided that I would try a few things that will hopefully find my way back. First off I thought that maybe some game time on the 360 would help so I thought I would give some of these XLA games a go. One game that everyone was talking about was Bejeweled 2
Big Mistake not because this game is bad but because it's so good & addictive. I think because of the leader boards too make this game just that bit more addictive. Right now my goal is to try to get the number one spot on the leader board on my Friends lists. Anyway I ended up playing for so long all I could think about was to arrange gems & getting combos & making hyper cubes. So that did not work. One thing that is starting to work is to make a list of ideas & cross them off as I go & add new ones to the list right away so I don't forget. I also think some more time in the afternoons would be good a maybe some more sleep. Anyway there maybe some help at hand from Work from tomorrow I will be starting an hour earlier & finishing an hour earlier, which means more time in the Afternoons. Anyway I think I am no longer lost for words hopefully.
A few weeks ago I was talking about the GAME1 Expo & I Said that I will have some more details on the event & here they are. First off I will start off with the dates. The first event will be held in Melbourne from the 4th to the 5th of November at the Melbourne Exhibition Center. 2 Clarendon Street, SouthBank. This is for Semi final the Second event will be held in Sydney at the Sydney Showground’s Olympic park, which is off Showground Road, Homebush Bay. The Sydney event is also the final & will be on the 2nd to the 3rd of December. But more than that you can expect to see SAMSUNG Australia there & the Wii will also be there too & you will be able to play games on the Wii one month before it's released in Australia. The Wii will be released in Australia on the 7th of December. So it will be good to play with the Wii before it comes out. October 21 GAMING EXPOOk I have some good News for those of you that live in Melbourne & Sydney sorry to everyone else who lives in SA, WA & the rest of the Country. On the 4th to the 5th of November in Melbourne GAME1 will be having the first inaugural Electronic Gaming EXPO & Tournament. I don't need to tell you how big this is going to be. This event will be running in conjunction with the Auto Salon show. Some of the things you can Expect to find at this show will be everything from Next gen game titles to next gen consoles to game demos & the Wii will be there to play to. But the big highlight for the Electronic Gaming EXPO & Tournament is the 36 hour tournament. There will be an Xbox 360 tournament & a PC tournament. Anyway I can't wait for this event. So if you can get to the Melbourne or Sydney one you should get on down you would have to be crazy to miss this one. For more Details on this event Visit Here or http://www.game1.com.au/

October 17 one GigWell having Xbox Live down today has been good in a way for one it's allowed me to do some Bloging. But I really should get to the point of today’s post. Now that I have been online for a few weeks now I have tried out a few of the Demos such as trailers & XLA. But I am yet to try out any of the 360 demos. Mainly because of the size of these downloads. Most of these downloads can be anything from half a Gigabyte to just over a gigabyte. Which when you think about it this is pretty big for a 20 GB HD & you can only use 13 -14GB of that 20 so it's even worse than if it where 20. So I would imagine that you could quickly full an HD. So that’s why I use a Memory unit to save my XLA games & some small trailers mostly in 480p. So that they are not taking room up on my HD. but 64mb is just way to small This has left me thinking that a 1 gig memory unit would of been better or maybe a 1 gig SD card like you can use in the Wii. I don't know why you can only get a 64mb cards. I mean this is a bit sad for a Next gen system & don’t get me wrong here I love my 360 & the whole Xbox & Microsoft community. But only 64 Meg when was the last time you only used 64 Meg it must be like 1995 or something like that. Anyway I think a 1-gig memory card would be great idea. Maybe then I might download some 360 demos.
October 10 How many is to many
Right now I have a Strong hunger for RPG not just RPG but star Wars RPG such as KOTOR need I say any more. As much as I would of liked to play KOTOR 1 & 2 In full HD it may be time to move on. & To look forward to Mass effect, I may not have the full powers of a Sith Lord but Mass Effect does has a few of the things that I look for in a Game one it's a RPG Two it's a Sci-Fi game so for me it's off to a good Start plus it’s made by Bioware now I know that Sith Lords was made by Obsidian but & I may be wrong about this but I do believe that Bioware did help out to make Sith Lords. Even though Bioware is busy with mass effect this should not stop Obsidian from Making KOTOR 3 which would be good as I think it should full my hunger for a sequel That Star wars can only full or could another full this hunger could maybe Mass effect do this for me. The Reason that I say this is that I am worried that KOTOR could become tired & like a Sad old man so how many Sequels is to many for Example Tony Hawk games need I say any more. So has KOTOR had it's day in the sun already & should it move over for games like Mass Effect despite this I think there is Some more life left in KOTOR at lest for one more anyway. Sith Lords for the Xbox maybe the last KOTOR but at lest we will have Mass effect which is set to be one of the must have games for the 360. No matter what happens I do hope both will come out but only when they are ready.
October 04 Xbox LIVE Part 2In my last Post I was talking about how I am no longer an Xbox LIVE virgin. Anyway I thought I would Share with you all my Impressions of Xbox LIVE & how I found it. First off I would have to say it's been a bit of a Roller coaster ride but at lest it has been mostly up for me. So overall it’s been good to be on LIVE. The highlight for me would have be the Xbox Live Arcade & I don't have to tell you all how good this is. So far I have been able try out a few of the games that are on the Arcade such as Frogger but I didn't like that game too much though. Although Games such as Wik: Fable of Souls & Doom I did enjoy playing those games. I also see that Dig dug is set to come out I can't wait to play this game. Dig Dug was one of my favorite games as a Kid. The Great thing about these games is that they are so small so you can fit a few of them on to a memory unit & take them with you. I prefer to do this instead of using the HDD because I think you could quickly fill the HDD, which I don’t want to do this. As for the Marketplace that’s pretty good too So far I have been impressed with the Trailers to Kane & Lynch: Dead Men & mass effect both of these games are looking pretty good. Now for Playing a game online & that’s why I said it's been bit of a roller coaster ride. For the most part I have mostly been battling golems in Enchanted Arms which has been good I have had some wins & some losses but that's alright the down side would of had to been PGR 3. I am not going to go into to much detail into what happened but the race had got to the point where it had become pointless anyway it’s all good. BTW I am now mostly playing under the name of Dark Angel 667 so if you would like to send me a FR fell free to do so here.
